The Hawaiian Scottish Festival & Highland Games
Presented by the Hawaiian Scottish Association (HSA) and sponsored by the Caledonian Society
The 34th Annual Hawaiian Scottish Festival & Highland Games will be held April 11th
th
and 12 from 10:00am to 6:00pm at McCoy Pavilion in Ala Moana
Beach Park. Everyone is welcome to attend and especially to participate. There
are activities & contests of athletic superiority(think long telephone poles and heavy weights to
throw); genealogy; children’s activities; musical interludes with the Celtic Pipes & Drums of Hawaii; competitions in Highland dance,
and demonstrations of Hawaiian hula. Did I mention food and spirits?
Free Spirits Liquors will have an amazing array of premium scotch to try. Food vendors — RSCDS Tea tent, Royal Hot Dogs,
Grillin’ Out, & Funnel Cakes.
Retail vendors — Rainbow Crafts, Rampant Lion, & Sheldon Pewter. And so much more!
We will need volunteers to help at the entry gates.
There
is a $1.00 entry fee and ROTC students from Farrington & McKinley
High Schools will man the gates with adult supervision. There are
many other volunteer opportunities available as well.

Kicking off the Highland Festival is the Grand Scotch Tour VI,
held on Friday, March 27, 5:30 to 8:30pm, at The Willows Restaurant,
901 Hausten St. in Honolulu. Tickets are $75 presale and $85 at
the door. Call the restaurant at 952-9200 for reservations.

Taste of Scotland Friday, April 10th
This is the welcome ceilidh the night before the Games held at The Willows Restaurant, 901 Hausten St. from
5:00pm to 9:00pm. The price is $30 in advance; $35 at the door;
children $15. Tickets may
be purchased by calling the restaurant at 952-9200.
